Last update: September 3, 2009 - another C-extension added to extensions page

Four badly broken basses in the shop along with a few less seriously damaged instruments. A few last minute school setups. Airline baggage handlers, low humidity, inconsiderate roomates... all are keeping me busy. I've just finished a 2-capo C-extension on a Chandler bass, somewhat challenging for the scroll geometry which didn't leave a lot of room for ebony in front of it. Worked out rather well anyway. My boy continues to hang around the workshop, picking up anything interesting and asking "what does this thing say?"

the list of instruments looking for new homes:

~ A nice Prochownik bass bow, German type - $900
  ~ large Hungarian bass - $8,000
~ Chandler carved-back bass, Busan model - asking $10,000, will consider offers
~ Prochownik bass bow at $1,900
~ Violins, violas, bows, anything available but which doesn't quite get its own page.
~ Doublebass C-extensions - five of the things, three made during summer of 2005, two more in spring 2008, one from summer 2009
  ~ cello made in 1993
~ baroque violin made in 1999
~ restoration of an old Bohemian bass
