A nicely made old German violin, re-varnished



     This violin possesses a warm and even tone with decent projection. The workmanship is very even, showing considerable skill, especially in execution of the scroll. Interior work is of quite high production standards, with none of the cheap shortcuts such as an integral bar or missing blocks. Apparently worn quite badly, some owner has had the instrument re-varnished, probably within the last 40 years or so, and this was done to a decent standard. There are no significant repairs and the violin is in good condition.
