This violin was made by Hungarian master luthier Temesvari Peter in 2005, a maker thoroughly established a decade earlier with his violins winning various prizes in Europe. Workmanship throughout is to a high standard. The maple of the back, ribs and scroll well matched and nicely flamed. The spruce of the belly is very even and of a good density. Arching and edge work is very even and well thought out, made to proportions echoing the mature work of Stradivari. The varnish is very even and a fairly typical orange hue - many Hungarian makers choose similar coloured varnish. Tone is quite strong and even. Current market value is about $7,500 (Canadian)
